Artist Statement 

 

Melinda, born in Los Angeles and now living in the Yucatán Peninsula, grew up an enigma in her own family, with a love for animals and nature. Her home includes 9 dogs and 5 cats, most rescued from the streets of Mexico and a few from the U.S.. She works as a yoga therapist, energy worker, and tarot consultant. All of these attributes contribute to her art along with trauma and spiritual alignments influences all in the hopes of manifesting improved inner and outer worlds. 

 

Her art encompasses a mix of styles, and mediums, concentrating on energy paintings and surrealism, always grounded in the spirit and transitional process of the human experience. She explores the darker aspects of nature with an element of levity. There is a notable respect that goes beyond derision, contributing to the contrast in her nature and work.
